Our Mission
Close the Execution Gap
To de-risk digital transformation by providing the independent oversight and architectural rigour necessary to ensure technology investments deliver actual business value.
The Name & The Promise
"Malibongwe" carries a profound meaning of praise and honour in Nguni culture. For us, it is not just an identity — it is a brand value statement, and a promise we make on every engagement.
Our Story
Somewhere between the board's strategy and the delivery team's reality, transformations lose their way. We founded this firm to stand in that gap — a boutique advisory dedicated to de-risking digital transformation.
The name anchors our purpose in Stewardship: the belief that true advisory is not transactional, but intergenerational. We do not deliver generic consulting; we build solutions that survive the tenure of current leadership.
We operate at the intersection of African heritage and global rigour. "Malibongwe" symbolises both: world-class technical governance applied to local challenges — and institutions built for future generations to praise.
That is our commitment to Legacy: businesses built today with the structural integrity to lead tomorrow.
Our Mission
To de-risk digital transformation by providing the independent oversight and architectural rigour necessary to ensure technology investments deliver actual business value.
Our Vision
To bring world-class technical governance to local challenges — building businesses today that possess the structural integrity to lead tomorrow.
Core Values
Advisory that is intergenerational, not transactional. We build what outlasts us.
Praise and honour are reserved for outcomes that earn them. We aim for nothing less.
Technology-agnostic, vendor-free oversight. Our only interest is your strategic intent.
African heritage and global rigour, in the same room, on every engagement.
Strategic Positioning
Our Principal Advisors architect the solution and govern its execution. When one partner is accountable for both, strategy and delivery stop drifting apart — and every implementation partner answers to the board's intent.
Leadership & Credentials
Advisory is only as credible as the advisor's scars. Mpendulo Zondi is a scholar-practitioner — a PhD focus on Digital Transformation Strategy and an Executive MBA in Business Analytics, matched with more than twenty years leading enterprise-scale delivery.
Before founding Malibongwe, he delivered for Mercedes-Benz SA, BMW IT Hub, Absa Group, Vodacom, RMB WesBank, Tracker, Multichoice and the South African Reserve Bank — combining strategic insight with technical mastery across custom builds, SAP ecosystems and low/no-code platforms, including tenure as Platform Lead & Capability Manager for Mendix.
Certified in Cloud Computing and Data Science (University of Texas at Austin), he is proficient across AWS, Azure and GCP, data streaming platforms, pipelines and data lakes — with expertise extending to Generative AI, Machine Learning, Python/SQL and advanced analytics. He has driven cloud migrations from on-premise to AWS at enterprise scale.
A first conversation costs nothing — and clarifies everything.
